How to lock StudioCloud to specific computers

How does StudioCloud Lock Down Computers

StudioCloud locks down computers based on their mac address. A mac address is a number unique to the computer that is used when connecting to the internet. If you can connect to the internet using more then one method such as wired, wireless, or a combination of wired and wireless methods you might have more then one mac address. In that situation you may need to approve all of the mac addresses to make sure that StudioCloud lets you login.

How to Approve A Computer

  1. Click on the Cloud Services component
  2. Click on the Cloud Settings tab
  3. Click on the View Computer Login History button
  4. Edit the desired computer to approve it
    1. If you would like to enable the computer that you are on click on the Find This Computer button at the bottom of the window
  5. Change the status to Approved
  6. Click the Save button

If You Do Not See The Computer On The List

You will need to login on the computer at least once before it will be displayed on the list of computers. If you have the option "Enable Login Only On Approved Computers" selected then the computer will not be able to login but will present a message saying that the computer must be approved before it can login.

After logging in on the desired computer reopen the "View Computer Login History window and the computer should be displayed with a computer status of Requested. Only after it has the status of requested can you approve it.

How to Deny A Computer

  1. Click on the Cloud Services component
  2. Click on the Cloud Settings tab
  3. Click on the View Computer Login History button
  4. Edit the desired computer to approve it
    1. If you would like to enable the computer that you are on click on the Find This Computer button at the bottom of the window
  5. Change the status to Denied
  6. Click the Save button
