Overview

StudioCloud supports bar code scanning for adding products, services, and packages to an invoice. This tutorial will provide you details regarding how to setup the bar code scanner and how to use it.

How to Setup Bar Codes

When creating or editing a product, service or package there is a field called Bar Code. Simply enter the bar code number or click the button to generate the bar code. Click here for a tutorial on how to create or edit products, services or packages.

How to Use A Bar Code Scanner with StudioCloud

First you need to plug in the bar code scanner and verify that it works. Open a text document and scan a bar code using the usb bar code scanner and you should see a number appear in the text document. To use it in StudioCloud create a new invoice or edit and existing invoice and then click with your mouse in the text input field under the products, services, and packages section. If you scan a bar code of a product that is entered into StudioCloud it will automatically add it to the invoice.

Supported Bar Code Scanners

StudioCloud currently only officially supports the LS 2208 usb bar code scanner although any usb bar code scanner would probably work.
