Gathering Windows Event Information
OverviewThis tutorial provides instructions on getting the
error event log from your windows computer. This tutorial should only be
followed if instructed by a StudioCloud technician. Windows event
information provides information as to why StudioCloud might be crashing
or not working correctly.
Instructions For Windows Vista/7For window vista/7 follow these instructions to open the Event Viewer
- To
get started, click on the Start button, then in the 'Start
Search' box type just three letters: eve. Observe how the larger dialog
box displays: 'Programs' and underneath: 'Event Viewer'. Click
on 'Event Viewer'.
- Once the event viewer is open do the following:
- Open Windows Logs under Event Viewer
- Then
right click on Application and and click the "Save All Events as" menu
option. Save the file to your desktop as an Event File and repeat the
steps with Security, Setup, and System.
- Once all of the files have been saved email these files to support@studiocloud.com with your Business ID included in the email text
Instructions For Windows XPFor windows xp follow these instructions to open the Event Viewer - Click Start,
and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, then
click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
Or, open the MMC containing the Event Viewer snap-in.
- In the console tree, click Event Viewer.
- Once the event viewer is open do the following:
- Open Event Viewer under event Viewer
- Then
right click on Application and and click the "save Events as" menu
option. Save the file to your desktop as a Event File and repeat the
steps with Security, Setup, and System.
- Once all of the files have been saved email these files to support@studiocloud.com with your Business ID included in the email text
